Gia Allemand Dies Of Apparent Suicide: Former ‘Bachelor’ Star Dead At 29
Gia Allemand, who was a contestant on The Bachelor’s 13th season, died on Wednesday after an unknown medical emergency landed her in the hospital earlier in the week. She was 29. Some reports claim Allemand was hospitalized due to a suicide attempt.
Allemand was admitted to University Hospital in New Orleans in critical condition on Monday, “following a serious emergency medical event, the details of which are currently not known,” her publicist had said in a statement. Beauty expert Melinda Farina, who was a close friend of Allemand's had given a more detailed account of model’s status, tweeting, “[Gia] is on life support w little pulse and barely breathing […] next 48 hours critical please pray for Gia everyone.”
Jake Pavelka, who courted Allemand on The Bachelor, asked his Twitter followers to pray for her after learning of her frightening health status. When he found out about her passing, he tweeted, “I had to pull over, I can’t stop crying. We have lost an angel.”
Vienna Girardi, who had received the final rose from Pavelka on the ABC dating show and remained friends with Allemand, echoed her former boyfriend’s sentiments. “Gia you are my angel,” she tweeted. “You changed so many likes with your beautiful sould and will be missed and loved forever.” Girardi has also alluded to a possible cause of Allemand’s death.
"I’m shocked and can’t believe what happened to her. She seemed so happy, but never know the demons people are fighting inside,” she told TMZ. “I will never forget her and will miss my friend forever."
