Finland has constructed an ice hotel based on Game of Thrones, and it is scheduled to open in April.

GAME OF THRONES HOTEL TO OPEN IN FINLAND

In the Lapland region of Finland, winter is here year round. Lapland Hotels SnowVillage teamed up with HBO Nordic to create a Game of Thrones inspired hotel, made completely of natural ice. There are 25 rooms in the hotel, as well as a restaurant, bar, and wedding chapel. In one suite, an ice sculpture of a villainous White Walker presides over the bed. A Lapland tourism Instagram account showed a photo of the zombie-like creature, and asked if guests would be brave enough to sleep beneath the ice creature.

The hotel bar features an ice dragon to watch over guests as they eat and drink. The details in the production are amazing, with ice features that are recognizably from the HBO show. The hotel, however, does not have any indoor heating, so fans should be prepared for the cold. The hotel does, of course, provide warm blankets and bedding to guests.

The hotel will open its doors to guests in April 2018, with rooms starting at $264 per night. Entry for a day visit will be $18.

Game of Thrones will return for its six-episode eighth and final season in 2019.
