Sean O’Haire, who previously wrestled with the WCW and WWE, reportedly committed suicide on Monday. He was 43.
Sean O'Haire Committed Suicide
O’Haire was found dead of an apparent suicide by hanging in his bedroom by his father, reported TMZ. Upon finding his deceased son, the father called 911. Toxicology reports are pending.
News of O’Haire’s death broke Tuesday, though at the time the cause of death was not revealed. Former WCW wrestler Scotty Riggs broke the tragic news on Twitter.
Back in 2000, O’Haire made his debut in the WCW with partner Chuck Palumbo. The duo was the final tag team in the WCW before the organization folded and was purchased by the WWE in 2001. O’Haire eventually joined the WWE as Roddy Piper’s protégé and remained with the organization until 2004.
O’Haire’s premature departure from the WWE was due in part to Piper’s decision to leave, which negatively impacted O’Haire’s career. Following his short tenure in the WWE, O’Haire became involved in kickboxing and MMA. He also worked for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
