In a conversation with uInterview, U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Bart Conner shared details from his experience filming the iconic movie RAD, which was first released in 1986 and follows a bicycle motocrosser who tries to enter a nationally televised race for a cash prize. Conner, who played the character Bart Taylor, provided background on how he initially got involved in the documentary. “I was an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics, but Hal Needham – who is the director of RAD – he saw me during the Olympics, and he thought I might be a good character for his movie because there’s a big scene in the movies where a bicycle actually does a full backflip, and he’s like, ‘Ah that’s just gymnastics on a bike, I gotta call that Bart Conner guy!’” Conner told uInterview founder Erik Meers. RAD can be streamed now on Apple TV, Google Play Movies and Amazon Video.
