Actress Erin Moran died yesterday at the age of 56.

Moran starred in the sitcoms Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi. Her later roles include titles like The Love Boat and Murder, She Wrote.

Moran’s body was found Saturday at approximately 4:07 p.m. local time. According to a statement from the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, “Harrison County dispatch received a 911 call referencing an unresponsive female. Upon the arrival of first responders, it was determined that Erin Marie Moran Fleischmann was deceased. An autopsy is pending.”

No further information is available about the cause of Moran’s death.

The sad news prompted grieving responses from fellow celebs on social media. Ron Howard tweeted last night, “RIP Erin. I’ll always choose to remember you on our show making scenes better, getting laughs and lighting up tv screens.”

Henry Winkler, who also starred on Happy Days, also expressed his grief. “OH Erin… now you will finally have the peace you wanted so badly here on earth,” he said. “Rest In It serenely now.. too soon,” he wrote.

The former child star began acting before she was 10 years old. She achieved a lot of success in the 70s and 80s. Her latest appearance was on the reality TV show Celebrity Fit Club in 2008. Sadly, Moran was in the news in recent years for her financial struggles, battles with depression and accounts of homelessness.

She married twice, first in 1987 to Rocky Ferguson, whom she divorced in 1993. Within months, she married Steven Fleischmann in November 1993.
