Emmy Nominations 2016: Game of Thrones & The People V. OJ Simpson Lead
The nominees for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced this morning by black-ish star Anthony Anderson and Gilmore Girls‘ Lauren Graham from inside the Wolf Theater in North Hollywood.

Game of Thrones was nominated for Best Drama Series alongside The Americans, Better Call Saul, Downton Abbey, Homeland, House of Cards and Mr. Robot. Acting nods for Game of Thrones went to Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Maisie Williams.
Also earning drama series acting nominations were Kevin Spacey (House of Cards), Bob Odenkirk (Better Fall Saul), Matthew Rhys (The Americans), Viola Davis (How to Get Away with Murder), Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Keri Russell (The Americans), Michael Kelly (House of Cards), Maggie Smith (Downton Abbey), Maura Tierney (The Affair) and Constance Zimmer (UnREAL).
The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story dominated the Outstanding Limited Series categories, which also saw American Crime, The Night Manager, Fargo and Roots nominated. Cuba Gooding Jr., Courtney B. Vance, Sarah Paulson, Sterling K. Brown, John Travolta and David Schwimmer all got nods for their work on the Ryan Murphy series.
Outstanding Comedy Series nods went to Modern Family, Silicon Valley, Transparent, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Veep, Master of None and black-ish, which saw stars Anderson and Tracy Ellis Ross nominated.
Other acting comedy series nods went to Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent), Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth), Aziz Ansari (Master of None), Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie), Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Gaby Hoffman (Transparent), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) and Tony Hale (Veep).
Jimmy Kimmel, who last hosted the Primetime Emmys in 2012, will be back again this year. The Emmys will take place at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater Sept. 18, and will be broadcast live on ABC at 7 p.m. EST.
