Elton John & Taron Egerton Release Remix Following Oscar Nomination To “Rocketman” Original Song
Rocketman, the biopic that followed the life story of one of the most iconic singers, Elton John, highlighted his accomplishments and struggles. The film was successful, earning almost $200 million on a $40 million budget and countless nominations this award season including two Golden Globes nominations.
For the soundtrack John wrote a brand new duet for the film alongside his longtime collaborator, Bernie Taupin, called “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again,” which John recorded with the movie’s lead, Taron Egerton.
The song recently garnered an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song and in celebration, John and Bernie made a remix with the help of Purple Disco Machine.
John gave a statement saying the remix was “fabulous” and he was “a massive fan” of Purple Disco Machine.
It seems the show will keep going after all, as Elton also recently extended his North American leg of his “Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour,” his final musical tour as John stated he wants to retire and enjoy his husband, David Furnish, and their two children, Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John, 6, and Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, 8.
