Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Says He Would Consider A Future Presidential Bid
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson said he has not ruled out the idea of a presidential bid.
“I would consider a presidential run in the future if that’s what the people wanted,” he told USA Today. “Truly I mean that, and I’m not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people… So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.”
Johnson discussed the matter while interviewing about his new show, Young Rock, that is premiering on Tuesday. The show tells stories from Johnson’s life through four different versions of himself, a kid, a teen, a college student and as an adult. The adult version is being interviewed during a presidential run in 2032.
In 2017, Johnson said he was “seriously considering” running for president during an interview on The Ellen Show.
Johnson’s political leanings aren’t obvious, having previously mentioned that he is a registered independent. In 2000, he spoke at the Republican National Convention, but this past fall, he publicly endorsed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
