Saved By The Bell alum Dustin Diamond was hospitalized in Florida with stage four cancer, and is undergoing chemotherapy, according to his rep.

His diagnosis was first confirmed on Thursday in a Facebook post on his page. “At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer,” the post said. “Dustin will disclose more information once it is available and a plan moving forward is made.”

Diamond, who played Screech Powers on the 90s sitcom, has been “in a lot of pain,” according to his rep.

“It’s very serious, though we are still waiting for more details,” his rep told People on Thursday, “which we will have shortly.”

It is unclear how much time the actor may have to stay at the hospital, though his rep said he will be there for “at least another week.”

“He’s undergoing chemo so he will be there at least another week and then we will figure out when he gets to come home,” his rep said. “By next week, we’ll have a much better understanding of the severity of his condition and what treatments he will need so that he’s comfortable.”

Diamond also suffers from shingles, which added to his pain. He said the actor was “not doing so great when he was admitted to the hospital,” and was “fading in and out.” The rep added that on Thursday Diamond had been feeling “fine.”

Former costar Mario Lopez commented on Diamond’s diagnosis, writing in an Instagram post, “I connected with Dustin earlier this evening and although the news of his diagnosis is heartbreaking, we remain positive that he’ll overcome this. Praying for him & his family and for a speedy recovery.
God Bless”

Diamond did not join Lopez and his former costars for the Peacock reboot of Saved By The Bell, though he had hoped to appear later on in the series if the show is greenlit for a second season.
