With Super Bowl 50 getting closer, companies are showcasing their 30 second commercials and T-Mobile is on board. The phone company is featuring Drake and his hit, “Hotline Bling” in their Super Bowl commercial.
T-Mobile will have two time slots during the Super Bowl on Sunday. Their Drake commercial pokes fun at high-powered phone companies that overcharge for their services.
In the commercial, the rapper’s original lyrics is “She used to call me on my cell phone” and the phone executives tell him to add in “device eligible for upgrade after 24 months” and also add “streaming music will incur data charges.” Drake sarcastically adds, “This won’t ruin the song at all.”
T-Mobile has used celebrities in the past to ring in new users such as Kim Kardashian, Tim Tebow, Chelsea Handler, and Sarah Silverman.
