Drake Bell Pleads Not Guilty To Child Endangerment
Former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell has pled not guilty to charges relating to child misconduct. Bell, who starred in the hit TV show Drake & Josh, was arrested on Friday for an attempted child endangerment charge, a fourth-degree felony, and a disseminating matter harmful to juveniles charge, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office said that Bell had an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl that began in December 2017. She attended one of his concerts at a nightclub in the Cleveland area. While at the Odeon Concert Club, prosecutors said that Bell “violated his duty of care and, in doing so, created a risk of harm to the victim.”
The Canadian girl also alleged that Bell sent her inappropriate messages over social media. She filed a report in December 2018. Bell was recently released from Cuyahoga County Jail on a $2,500 bond. In addition, he will be required to provide a DNA specimen.
The 34-year-old actor and singer is set to appear in court on June 23.
While not many facts of the case are available at the moment, Bell’s lawyer, Ian Friedman, told reporters “All facts will be revealed in a courtroom.”
Bell is best known for acting in the children’s show Drake & Josh from 2004-2007. He and his costar, Josh Peck, also appeared in two movies together.
