Doris Roberts, who memorably played the busybody matriarch on Everybody Loves Raymond, died Sunday at 90.

Doris Roberts Dies

Everybody Loves Raymond ran for nine seasons – from 1996-2005 – with Roberts starring as Marie Barone, the overbearing mother of Raymond and Robert, and wife to the incorrigible Frank. Her character was a fan favorite, as she often squabbled with her daughter-in-law Debra, coddled her favorite son and put Frank in his place.

Below, check out five of Roberts’ most memorable moments on Everybody Loves Raymond:

1. When Marie Took Debra’s Side Over Ray’s:

2. When Ray Signs Marie Up For a Fruit of the Month Club:

3. When Marie Made a Sculpture Reminiscent Of Georgia O’Keefe’s Work:

4. When Robert Blames Marie For a Failed Job Interview:

5. When Marie And Frank Imitate Ray and Debra:

Following the news of Roberts’ passing, many members of the Everybody Loves Raymond cast have released statements to remember the late comic actress, including Patricia Heaton and Ray Romano.

“Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped,” Romano told People in a statement. “Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a young, green comic trying to make it as an actor, she did it all with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly.”
