“Happy Birthday to Melania, our great First Lady!,” President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter.

Melania Trump turned 50 on Sunday, and like all other Americans during this time, celebrated her birthday at home. Her Chief of Staff Stephanie Grisham said the first lady will spend her birthday with family at the White House.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also tweeted birthday greetings.

The Republican Party also wished her. Its tweet had more than 25,000 likes and 10,000 re-tweets.

The first lady was born on April 26, 1970, and she moved to the U.S. from Slovenia in 1996. The former fashion model married Trump in 2005, and their son, Barron Trump, was born the following year.

She recently suggested that the public wear masks on social media and posted word-search puzzles for children which generated much criticism.
