Donald Trump Taps Omarosa Manigualt To Be His Director Of African-American Outreach
Omarosa Manigualt, the infamous The Apprentice villain, has been named the director of African American outreach by Donald Trump and his presidential campaign.
Omarosa Hired For New Job With Trump
Omarosa was pleased to announce Monday, the first day of the Republican National Convention, that she’d just recently been asked to take on the task of attempting to convince African-American voters to support Trump.
“It happened this week,”Manigualt told MSNBC from Cleveland, where the RNC is being held. “It’s really an extension of the work that the [National Diversity Coalition for Trump] has already been doing, and so I’m very happy to take up that cause for Donald Trump.”
Manigualt, who had previously served as the Trump campaign’s vice chairman for the National Diversity Coalition, added, “Donald Trump really has an incredible vision for this country.”
MSNBC host Craig Melvin pointed to polling that showed that Trump’s support among African Americans in Ohio was negligible. In fact, it showed that 0% planned to vote for him.
“It would seem as if you have your work cut out for you, to say the least,” Melvin said.
“I’m wondering who they polled because I just spent an amazing weekend with African-Americans for Trump, about 300 of them,” Manigualt said, defending her boss. “So I look at the data, but my reality is that I’m surrounded by people who to want see Donald Trump as the next president of the United States, who are African-American.”
