Former President Donald Trump‘s son, Donald Trump Jr., took center stage in Iowa to deliver a speech that took jabs at his father’s political rivals, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida), as well as President Joe Biden‘s son, Hunter Biden.

Trump’s legal obligations required him to rely on surrogates like Don Jr. to convey his message to Iowa voters. Donald Jr. headlined an event organized by the Bull Moose Conservative Club at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Urbandale, a political group that caters to individuals aged 45 and under.

With evident delight, Donald Jr. discussed former Gov. Chris Christie‘s (R-New Jersey) recent hot mic incident, where Christie expressed doubt about Haley’s chances against Trump and questioned her suitability for the role. Don Jr. interpreted Christie’s remarks as an admission that Haley “has no chance.”

Don Jr. continued to humorously compare Haley to a manufactured candidate designed by the “deep state” to mimic conservative values and suggested she would have been a better fit for the Republican Party in 2008. He also criticized DeSantis, who expressed gratitude to Christie and highlighted the incongruity between DeSantis’ anti-establishment stance and Christie’s neo-conservative background.

Don Jr. accused Christie, DeSantis and Haley of collaborating with the Democratic Party and D.C. insiders. He alleged that they wanted to prolong the primary race, which would allow the consultant class to benefit financially from an extended contest.

In addition to his criticism of Republican rivals, Don Jr. targeted Biden, the likely opponent in the general election if his father secures the GOP nomination. He used his experience as the son of a wealthy individual to highlight the impact of rising prices on everyday Americans.

Don Jr. mocked the Democratic Party as a whole, questioned Biden’s leadership abilities and claimed, “He’s not in charge of his own faculties, let alone the decisions.”

Donald Jr. took a last swipe at Hunter Biden when he dubbed him a “crackhead” multiple times and made fun of Hunter’s ongoing legal issues.

On Monday night, Trump beat out both Haley and DeSantis in Iowa caucuses by a wide margin.

In November, Don Jr. was in court testifying in the $370 million business fraud case against his father and the Trump Organization.
