Donald Trump Greeted By Queen Elizabeth & Prince Charles On State Visit To The U.K., Twitter Reacts
Amid protests in reaction to President Donald Trump‘s first state visit to the U.K., Twitter has added a touch of humor to the nation’s response.
Trump’s visit, which began today and will span over the next three days, started with a helicopter landing in the back garden of the Buckingham Palace, something that hasn’t been done since President George W. Bush‘s visit in 2003. Trump and Prince Charles proceeded to take a walk in the garden, followed by Melania Trump and Camilla Parker Bowles, who chatted it up behind their husbands.
During Trump’s last trip to the U.K., which was just a working visit, more than 100,000 people protested, bashing Trump’s right-wing politics and condemning the parliament for allowing the visit.

This time around, London mayor Sadiq Khan has allowed protesters to fly a Trump baby blimp during his visit. In response, Trump has unleashed a set of tweets against Khan, calling him a “stone cold loser.”
.@SadiqKhan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly “nasty” to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me……

….Kahn reminds me very much of our very dumb and incompetent Mayor of NYC, de Blasio, who has also done a terrible job – only half his height. In any event, I look forward to being a great friend to the United Kingdom, and am looking very much forward to my visit. Landing now!

Thankfully, Twitter can also add a sense of lightheartedness to such serious global news, as seen below.
