Former President Donald Trump and his fellow 18 co-defendants are set to be booked at the Fulton County Jail.

Natalie Ammons, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, announced the news: “At this point, based on guidance received from the District Attorney’s office and presiding judge, it is expected that all 19 defendants named in the indictment will be booked at the Rice Street Jail.”

The jail has been made famous by rappers as a “gangsta” homeland in lyrics such as those by Miss Mulatto‘s “F— Rice Street.”

According to prosecutors in the case, Trump is accused of over a dozen felonies in his attempts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia after President Joe Biden‘s victory in the state.

On Monday evening, Trump was indicted by a grand jury in Fulton County along with the 18 other people accused of felonies, including the former New York City Mayor and Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, the former state Republican Party Chairman David Shafer and the former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.

The District Attorney of Fulton County Fani Willis has declared that Trump and the other co-defendants have until 12 p.m. on August 25 to turn themselves in.

The sheriff’s office spoke on the matter on Tuesday saying, “Keep in mind, defendants can turn themselves in at any time. The jail is open 24/7. Also, due to the unprecedented nature of this case, some circumstances may change with little or no warning.”

They continued to speak about having a separate media space at the jail, which will be located in the parking lot, where local and national networks can capture the moment when Trump and his allies turn themselves in.

Before the indictments, the Sheriff of Fulton County, Pat Labat, stated that if Trump were charged in Georgia, then he would treat him like any other criminal, including taking his mugshot and fingerprints.

“Unless somebody tells me differently, we are following our normal practices, and so it doesn’t matter your status, we’ll have a mugshot ready for you,” the sheriff told Atlanta’s WSB-TV.

The Courthouse has prepared for Trump’s arrival and set up security barricades in front of the courthouse.
