Ivana Trump, first wife of former President Donald Trump, was referred to as a “force of nature” at her funeral at New York’s St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church on the Upper East Side on Wednesday.

“She had brains; she had beauty,” her son Eric Trump said. “She was the embodiment of the American dream… She was a force of nature.”

“She ruled the three of us [kids] with an iron fist but also a heart of gold,” Eric said, referring to himself and his siblings Ivanka Trump and Donald Jr.

Donald Trump, former First Lady Melania Trump, and sons Barron and Don Jr. also honored the late businesswoman at the private service. The invite-only funeral was titled a “Celebration of Life,” featuring a photo of Ivana, an Olympic skiier, on the ski slopes on the invitation.

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner were in attendance along with Tiffany Trump. Eric’s wife Lara Trump spoke during the service along with Don Jr.’s daughter Kai.

“Growing up, my mother didn’t tell me a woman could do anything she wanted to — she showed me,” Ivanka said. “She was a trailblazer by men and women alike.

Dozens of mourners gathered outside the church to pay respects to the 73-year-old who died from a fall last week. She suffered from “blunt impact injuries” due to the fall and was ruled an accident by the Medical Examiner’s office.

Rather than bringing flowers, the Trump family requested guests to make a donation to Big Dog Ranch Rescue, a nonprofit aiming to minimize dog homelessness.
