Disney Channel Latin America Star Sebastián Athié Dies At 24

Disney Channel Latin America actor Sebastián Athié has died at age 24. The star appeared in shows O11CE and La Rosa de Guadalupe. 

His death was confirmed on the Disney Channel Latin America Instagram on Saturday. The post read, “Rest in peace, Sebas. Your art and your smile stay forever✨🖤With much pain, we regret the departure of Sebastián Athié whom we will always remember for his great talent, companionship, professionalism and, above all, enormous heart. We accompany his family, colleagues, friends and fans in his farewell.”

On the television show O11CE, which is about a boy who gets recruited to play soccer at a sports institute, Athié played Lorenzo Guevara. His co-star Daniel Panitio posted in memory of Athié. When translated the post reads, “Noble souls do not die and your light will be eternal, passion, discipline and love, so I will remember you, my roomie, my friend, my brother, God have your holy glory, I do not understand many times his plans, and for the first time I it makes you feel to lose a brother, life I owe you a lot, I will miss you.”

Athié was known to be a big soccer fan himself and was open about supporting his favorite team Juventus F.C. on his social media. In November 2019, Athié and the rest of the cast filmed O11CE at “2 of the most important football clubs in the world.” Athié  shared the experience on his Instagram. 

He said, “To all the parents who sat with their children to watch the series and in the end they ended up knowing the names of the characters more than the children themselves. 3 seasons is easy, it is not. Thank you for believing in us. Thanks Lorenzo Guevara. O11CE in my ❤️ forever.”

In October 2018, Athié came out with single “Hasta que Vuelvas” with Javier Eloy. In 2019, he came out with “Enloqueciendo” by himself.
