Armie Hammer, who famously was canceled when his “rough” dating life with women became public, has recently opened up about a same-sex encounter on his new podcast.

Hammer, 38, was joined on his Armie HammerTime podcast by actress and mental health coach Dani Druz. The experiment allegedly didn’t last too long. Hammer opened up about his brief attempts with other men but did not specify when they had occurred.

“I tried hooking up with a dude one time, and it was hilarious,” Hammer told Druz. “I was like, you know what, like women are the worst, and gay dudes seem to have it so easy,” Hammer added that he was on Grindr, an app for people interested in same-sex relationships, at one point.

“I’m at a restaurant, and my phone blows up, and it’s like Grindr, and someone else is like, ‘I’m at the same restaurant. Do you want to [meet] in the bathroom,’ and you’re like, ‘Hey guys, I’ll be back in five minutes.'”

“I was like, you know what? I’m gonna try this,” Hammer continued. Maybe this works for me. Let’s give it a try. I remember I met this dude, handsome French, you know the whole thing. I was like, OK, this could work. Let’s try this.”

“I remember I started making out with them, and I just remember being like, ‘God, beards!’ Women like it when you shave like this. The thing is f— rough. How do I get back there? I remember I put my arms around him, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, these shoulders are so wide.’ He’s so big, like he’s almost my height. This is so strange, and it did physically nothing, nothing, like didn’t not even a twitch.”

Hammer didn’t specify when this encounter happened, “I was just like, OK, and then I remember like we were making out, and it was kind of getting hotter and heavy, but I was like going through the motions, like not feeling anything… I was like this isn’t going to happen, I’m sorry.”

Hammer shared two children with ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers after their finalized divorce in 2023. The two have been co-parenting since 2020.
