Michelle MacLaren has reportedly walked away from directing Wonder Woman over creative differences.
Michelle MacLaren Quits Wonder Woman
MacLaren, who is best known for her work at the helm of episodes for Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, has parted ways with Warner Bros. due to creative differences, reported Variety. The exact nature of the creative differences, however, has not been revealed.
“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together,” the studio said in a statement.
Wonder Woman would have been MacLaren’s first major film gig.
Despite the hiccup of having to search for a director to replace MacLaren, Warner Bros. plans to move forward with the project. Jason Fuchs has already been tapped to write the script, while Gal Gadot is to star in the titular role.
Warner Bros. is currently in the middle of pre-production for Wonder Woman and has yet to cast a few pivotal roles, including that of Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman’s love interest.
If production on Wonder Woman stays on schedule, the film is to be released June 23, 2017.
