Diana Ross’ Grandson, Raif-Henok Emmanuel Kendrick, Steals Show At AMAs With Dance Moves

Diana Ross, 73, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the AMAs on Sunday, and her 8-year-old grandson stole the show.

DIANA ROSS’ GRANDSON STEALS SHOW AT AMAS

Ross was joined by many of her family members, including son Evan Ross and his wife Ashlee Simpson, daughters Rhonda Ross Kendrick and Tracee Ellis Ross, who was also the host for the evening.

“What do you get when you cross a chart-topping singer, breathtaking beauty, captivating actress, trailblazing style icon, record-breaking pioneer, legendary megastar, international superstar, and an all-around boss?” her son Evan asked the crowd. “Everybody, you get my mom. Miss Diana Ross.”

Before accepting her award, the legend sang a medley of “Ease on Down the Road” and “I’m Coming Out.” She became surrounded by her many grandchildren as she performed her hit “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” and one in particular stole the show. Her grandson Raif-Henok Emmanuel Kendrick‘s dance moves were all anyone could talk about after that performance. He did the splits with great R&B style, and showed off his afro and shiny suit at the same time.

Ross was fully celebrated at the AMAs, and even got a special shout out from the former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama. “When we heard Diana Ross was getting a Lifetime Achievement Award, our first reaction was, ‘She doesn’t have it yet?'” Barack said. “People from the age of 8 to 80 know every word of Diana’s songs and her artistry resonates with folks of every race, background, and walk of life. Today, her voice is still as pure, her beauty is undeniable, and her showmanship is on point as back when she was a Supreme,” Michelle added.

“This is all about love,” Ross said in her acceptance speech. “This is my family and I’m sending love to all of you. I really, really love being here and I feel so humbled by this. I love you so very much.”

The Rosses closed out the show, and the dancing grandson was even the one to say the goodnights from the teleprompter at the end of the evening.
