Demetrious Johnson defended his UFC flyweight champion title against challenger John Moraga on Saturday.

Moraga came into the match with a few untelevised wins against lesser opponents. Against Johnson, he couldn’t keep up with the speed of the fight or the reigning champion’s strength. Despite having a wrestling background like Johnson, Moraga frequently found himself on his back.

The 125-pound weight class fight made history for having the latest stoppage ever, with the ref calling the match with just 77 seconds left in the bout. Through in his first seven UFC fights, Johnson earned his victories with scores from the judges – not through the more crowd-pleasing finishes of submissions and knockouts. He finished Moraga with an armbar.

Moraga put up a good fight, getting in a number of low kicks in the early rounds. He also managed to get in a few scrambles and escapes up from the mat. In the fourth round, Moraga landed a right hook on Johnson that left him bleeding. After getting a chance to recover in between rounds, Johnson came back to get his 10th takedown of the night and get a submission from Moraga.
