Deborra-Lee Furness Speaks – By Accident – For First Time Since Split From Hugh Jackman After 27 Years Together

Last week, Hugh Jackman and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, announced that they are splitting after 27 years of marriage.

“We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,” the former couple said in a statement. “Our journey is now shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.”

The statement was signed “Deb and Hugh Jackman,” and ended with: “This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Now, Furness has made her first public statement about the situation – by accident.

On Tuesday, radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson accidentally called the actress, 67, on air.

“We didn’t mean to actually call you. But now you’re here, we won’t go into it. We love you, we hope you’re well,” Henderson said.

“We have actually called you by mistake, it’s ridiculous. Seriously, this isn’t a stitch-up,” Sandilands said.

“Thank you, guys. I really, really appreciate it,” Furness replied before hanging up.

Furness and Jackman met on the set of the show Corelli in 1995 and fell in love quickly. They then got married less than a year later in 1996. The couple has two kids, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.

The Jackmans were married on April 11, 1996, and became one of the industry’s best-loved couples.

On their last anniversary in April, Jackman posted a tribute to Furness and their relationship on Instagram, writing, “I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage, and loyalty is an incredible gift to me.”

Their last joint red carpet appearance was this year’s Met Gala in May, and they went to Wimbledon together in July.
