Dante Michael Soiu Found Not Guilty Of Stalking Gwyneth Paltrow
Dante Michael Soiu, 67, was cleared of all stalking charges brought against him from actress, Gwyneth Paltrow.
The actress had received multiple letters from Soiu, the one-time pizza delivery man, and emotionally told a jury she feared for her life and her family’s life. Paltrow gave her evidence for three hours last week where she claimed she was sent around 70 messages between 2009 and 2015 by Soiu.
Lynda Westlund, Soiu’s attorney claimed her client “just needed the right medication. He is completely lucid. “He’s unique. He’s special. But … he’s very cogent,” she said.
Paltrow claimed the letters ranged from “religious to pornographic to threatening” and some even mentioned her death. Others claimed that he wanted to marry the actress.
Soiu’s lawyer also stated that the actress misunderstood her client’s intent to share his religious views and never meant to harm Paltrow or her family. He also testified that that his letters were “a matter of seeking forgiveness” for the trouble he previously had caused her.
