U.S. Marine veteran Daniel Penny was spotted interacting with President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago while sitting with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani at a table.

According to sources who spoke to Page Six, Penny had been at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend and was greeted by Trump while sitting at a table with Giuliani.

An insider told the outlet that the president “was seen at his regular table” at the private Florida club, having a “deep conversation with [Fox News anchor] Bret Baier over dinner.”

They also mentioned that after Trump finished eating, he “got up and worked the room talking with Rudy Giuliani and being chummy with Daniel Penny.”

“Giuliani and Penny were at a large table for 12 and stood up to talk to the commander-in-chief,” the source said. “Trump called [Penny] ‘a good guy who did the right thing.’ The pair shook hands, spoke, and were seen smiling.”

On May 1, 2023, Penny held a homeless man, Jordan Neely, in a fatal chokehold on the New York City subway. Later that month, he turned himself in to New York City police to face a second-degree manslaughter charge.

One month later, a New York City grand jury indicted the veteran for choking Neely. On Dec. 9, 2024, Penny was found not guilty of criminally negligent homicide by a Manhattan jury.
