Dancing with the Stars contestant Cody Rigsby revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19, days after his dance partner Cheryl Burke tested positive.

“I have some news that I don’t want to be sharing with you but here it is, I have tested positive for COVID again,” the Peloton instructor said in an Instagram video on Thursday. Rigsby, 34, had previously tested positive for the virus earlier this year, before getting vaccinated.

“I right now have really mild symptoms, congestion, a little bit of a headache, cough,” he said. “But in comparison to when I had COVID earlier this year it is night and day, so that must be the vaccine and the antibodies working so we’re super grateful for that.”

Burke revealed that she tested positive for COVID in an emotional Instagram video on Sunday. “I just feel so bad,” the 37-year-old dancer said. “I feel so bad for Cody. I feel like I’m letting him down. I just feel like s–t to be quite honest, and it’s so overwhelming because it’s Sunday and the show’s tomorrow.”

Since the pair could not compete on Monday’s live show, they were judged on their performance at the rehearsal taping. They danced a salsa to “Don’t Go Yet” by Camila Cabello and scored a 24 out of a possible 40 points.

Burke and Rigsby will be dancing live and solo from their homes for the October 4 show, as long as they feel healthy enough to dance.
