A spokesperson for the New York Police Department confirmed that authorities responded to this call.
Police and law enforcement confirmed that the call came in at approximately 11:15 a.m., soon after she tossed a handwritten note from the window of her fifth-story room.
The former talk show host was later seen at the window waving her arms at a reporter while talking on the phone.
“Help! Wendy!!” the note read.
Soon after, Williams was quietly escorted out of the facility by a handful of cops, and EMS transported her in an ambulance to a local hospital “for evaluation.”
Early last year, Williams’ care team announced that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
On Jan. 16, the ex-talk show host called into the radio show The Breakfast Club to say that she is “not cognitively impaired” and that she feels as if she is “in prison.”
