Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Appears In Court In The Dominican Republic After Assaulting Two Producers & Trying To Flee The Country In Private Jet
On October 16, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill two of Diamond La Mafia’s music producers in the Dominican Republic.
The producers were beaten up and were left unconscious on the ground for 40 minutes at their studio after the assault.
The victims were identified as Cristian Anthony Rojas and Nelson Alfonso Hilario García, who were working at the studio with the rapper’s girlfriend, singer Yailin La Mas Viral.
The rapper reportedly then tried to leave the country on a private jet but the jet company refused to fly him out after being flagged by Dominican police.
Tekashi 6ix9ine, a New York rapper whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was released from jail before a court hearing.
On the day of Tekashi 6ix9ine,’s hearing, the producers were seen in bandages still recovering from their injuries. One of them was wearing a neck brace.
The rapper is charged with violating articles in the Dominican penal code (the código penal Dominicano), alleging he committed acts of torture, barbarism and attempted homicide.
The rapper is required to stay in the Dominican Republic for the next few months as the court case plays out.
Now, he is focusing on projects on the island.
On Wednesday, he spoke about the incident and his experience in jail for the first time on the Alofoke radio show. Tekashi 6ix9ine apologized to the producers and said that he did not come to the studio intending to fight with them.
When asked if he felt like the victims were exaggerating their injuries because he is famous, Tekashi 6ix9ine said yes.
“Everyone was in the wrong,” he said, adding that he didn’t want to speak about the case because it was a delicate situation.
He also spoke about his girlfriend and how he wants them to exist as “separate entities” in the music industry.
Towards the end of the interview, Viral made an appearance and was asked why she didn’t go to Tekashi 6ix9ine’s court hearing.
She revealed that it was at the rapper’s request. Tekashi 6ix9ine said he didn’t want her to be overwhelmed by reporters and that her appearance might have only complicated his hearing.
Viral was also asked what she thought about Tekashi 6ix9ine punching the producers. She said she took it as an “act of love.”
In March, the rapper was attacked in a South Florida gym, which was believed to be related to his cooperation in a federal case against two gang leaders.
