Former Republican candidate Kari Lake is reportedly in “negotiations” to join the right-wing cable news channel Newsmax after she lost her bid for a U.S. Senate seat in Arizona.

Two anonymous sources told Mediaite that Lake, a former local TV news anchor, and the company are discussing her joining in an on-camera role.

The report said that the former GOP Senate candidate would be of interest to Newsmax because she is “damaged” and “cheap” to hire after her back-to-back campaign losses.

Lake and Newsmax denied the report. Lake told Mediate to “get better sources.”

On Nov. 22, Lake appeared on Newsmax to discuss what she will do next career-wise.

“I’m going take a look at all kinds of options that are coming my way, and I’m gonna make a decision,” she told anchor Rob Finnerty. “But I’m not in a huge hurry right now as I’m actually enjoying just a little bit of time to relax and enjoy my family.”

In May, Lake was seen speaking to supporters at a campaign event. They gathered in a store in Show Low, Arizona, with a Confederate flag draped on the wall behind her.

In July, the former candidate scolded British journalist Emily Maitlis after being pressed on her claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.
