Cuba Gooding Jr. shed a few tears when he heard that Dallas police officer Patrick Zamarripa was one of the deaths from the police shooting in Dallas on Thursday night.
Gooding Jr. actually met Zamarripa briefly when he posed for a picture with the officer in February.
Zamarripa and Gooding are seen smiling in the selfie the officer posted to Twitter. “The great @cubagoodingjr. Thanx for taking the pic with my partner and I. Hope your stay in #Dallas was great sir!” Zamarripa tweeted.
Zamarripa was a 32-year-old Iraq war veteran and father of a 2-year-old girl.
“I cried today when I heard that,” Gooding Jr. told a TMZ reporter, when asked about Zamarripa’s death. “I cried, that’s all I’m saying.”
