Cuba Gooding Jr. Goes On Trial For Sexual Misconduct In Nightclub Incident

In June 2019 Cuba Gooding Jr., 51, stepped out with his girlfriend Claudine De Niro at Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge. It was at this club when an unidentifiable woman approached them both and started talking. In a released video, it appears the actor has his hands on her thigh and breast at one point. He can also be seen grabbing her hand and bringing it closer to him.

The woman in the video claimed the Boyz n the Hood star was “highly intoxicated” and he touched her as a result of them getting into an argument. After the incident Gooding turned himself into the New York Police Department. However, he was released after agreeing to adhere to the law and appear in court when summoned.

On October 10, his sexual abuse trial in court began and he continued to deny being responsible for any sexual misconduct. He said he trusts the legal system, assuring that the truth is all in the video.

In response to the video evidence, Goodings’ lawyer said,“there was not a drop of criminal conduct or inappropriate activity on his part. I have known Cuba for almost 30 years and his conduct towards women is always respectful. He respects women and he would never engage in that type of activity.”
