Pat Sajak, the game show legend who has hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1981, said in a recent interview that “the end is near” for his incredible tenure on the show alongside Vanna White.

While this doesn’t mean anything concrete, it’s interesting to consider who could succeed him. Pat and White’s contracts expire in 2024, so they’re still on the hook for a couple more years.

One option comes right from his family, as his daughter Maggie Sajak has been the show’s social correspondent for almost a year now. She is Pat’s daughter with his wife Lesly Brown-Sajak, and was raised in Severna Park, Maryland.

Sajak had musical talents from an early age and started playing guitar at the age of 12. She has recorded several country songs, and even had the video for her first song “First Kiss” played on Wheel of Fortune on her 17th birthday.

Maggie has even participated in the live show before. When her father was hospitalized in 2019 and White took over hosting duties, Maggie acted as letter-turner on the show for a full week. Along with her job hosting digital segments and helping manage the show’s social accounts, Sajak is also enrolled in law school according to her Instagram bio. She has attended Princeton University for undergrad studies and also completed some post-grad coursework at Columbia University.

Since White is about a decade younger than Pat Sajak, she could also realistically choose to stay on while he departs, and would certainly have the seniority to deserve the host position if she wants it.

But she may also want to spread her wings and seek out other projects after so many years.
