Actor George Clooney is teaming up with MTV and 11 other TV networks to air a two-hour telethon Friday to  benefit the earthquake victims in Haiti. The special, Hope for Haiti, will air at 8 p.m. on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT with no commercials. The broadcast will be hosted by Clooney in Los Angeles as well as  Wyclef Jean in New York and CNN’s Anderson Cooper in Haiti. The special is not unprecedented: celebrity telethons were held help victims of the Asian tsunami in 2005 and in the wake of 9/11.
