Christina Ricci Looks Loved-Up On Vacation With Mark Hampton After Calling Ex-Husband ‘Vindictive’ In Dispute Over Son

Christina Ricci is living her best life on vacation with her partner, celebrity hairdresser Mark Hampton. The Yellowjackets star recently posted loved-up photos of the couple lounging in Hawaii.

This vacation comes after drama with her ex, James Heerdegen.

Last month, she went on a trip to New York City with her oldest son, Freddie, whom she shares with Heerdegen.

According to Ricci, Heerdegen initially gave her permission to take their son on the trip but then later changed his mind. In response, Ricci requested an emergency court hearing with her ex.

During the hearing, Ricci stated, “Jimmy’s refusal to agree causes me concern because he clearly was being vindictive and retaliatory when he initially refused my request to travel for the additional dates. As recently as Monday, June 19, 2023, Jimmy was agreeable to allowing Freddie to travel with me, but apparently, he still wants to wait until our hearing to discuss it.”

There was an agreement between the two that Ricci could take Freddie on the trip and that Freddie and Heerdegen would talk daily on FaceTime. 

When the actress’s filming schedule unexpectedly changed, she asked if Freddie would be permitted to return to the city with her. Heerdegen denied this and stated that he believed she was “emotionally abusing” Freddie and that this matter would be discussed in court. 

Ricci explained her concerns during the hearing, claiming that she is worried about what Jimmy may do in retaliation if he is unhappy with the decision in the hearing.

“I am concerned that if the hearing doesn’t go Jimmy’s way, he will renege. Jimmy’s conduct is purposefully making me incur attorneys’ fees unnecessarily and may have an impact on my employment and professional reputation,” she said.

Ricci was able to bring Freddie to New York City and where they enjoyed a lavish trip. This included fine dining, where Freddie enjoyed $195 caviar and a watermelon mocktail at the restaurant Craft. 

The actress also took her son to the toy store FAO Schwarz, where Freddie was able to try out the giant foot piano. They also purchased Marvin’s Magic Snow and one box of the World’s Largest Gummy Worms. 

Of course, no trip to NYC is completed without visiting Central Park. The two were able to enjoy a nice day by one of the park’s many ponds. 

Ricci and Heerdegen have been divorced since 2020. She filed for divorce and claimed that Heerdegen abused her in front of their son. Heerdegen denies these claims made against him. 

In April 2021, the two reached a custody agreement based on Ricci’s filming schedule for the project she was working on at the time. Freddie traveled with his mother to Vancouver, Canada, so that she could work on her film. 

During this time, Heerdegen was only permitted to visit his son through “regular monitored visitation time.” Ricci chose a hotel where Heerdegen could stay while visiting his son and paid for his accommodation and travel costs. When Heerdegen was unable to travel to Canada, he was permitted 15-minute FaceTime calls with his son three times a week.
