Chris Pratt, star of 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy, has promised a fantastic sequel.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, written and directed by James Gunn, has wrapped shooting, and Pratt, who plays lead character Peter Quill, says, “It’s finished and it’s going to be terrific.”
“I think it’s going to be – I’m not using hyperbole here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time,” Pratt surmised. It will be difficult to overtake James Cameron‘s Avatar in that department, which brought $2.8 billion worldwide in 2009. The first Guardians film, while a huge hit, only grossed nearly $800 million worldwide.
Fellow cast member Vin Diesel was also blown away by the feature, who was rendered temporarily speechless by a sneak peak. “I need a minute here guys,” Diesel said in response. No trailers have yet been officially released. The film is set to debut May 5, 2017.
