Dungeons & Dragons launched back in 1974, and an unsuccessful film adaption of it was released in 2000 by New Line Cinema. After a legal battle over ownership of Dungeons & Dragons‘ film rights that Warner Bros. won, Paramount has since claimed the rights to Hasbro’s flagship fantasy game.
McKay started animating and directing back in the Aughts, working on Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken television show before getting to loan his talents to The Lego Movie in 2014. McKay is currently attached to Warner Bros.’s upcoming Nightwing film, which is a part of the studio’s DC Extended Universe franchise.
