Chris Evans posted a tribute for Avengers fan, Damon, who lost his battle with cancer.
Damon’s dad, Brian Billeck, tweeted the news yesterday evening. “Damon lost is battle with Cancer at 11:26am. Thank you for the Love, prayers & emotional support everyone!” He tagged Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner in the tweet for his son and stated, “Damon was the TRUE embodiment of Captain America.”
Evans had been in contact with Damon since learning his favorite character was Captain America. The actor sent condolences to his family for their loss. “Damon had the kind of strength only pretend to have on screen. He was a true warrior. Brave, selfless, compassionate, and proud. I feel so grateful for his friendship. Sending all my love to you and your family, Brian.”

Evans and Damon began talking a year ago and remained in contact since then. Damon’s parents said the two even had a private messages that Evans sent him along with the public conversations. “Chris Evans (a.k.a Captain America) sent him a private message via Twitter,” his parents said on their GoFundMe page. “We won’t go into detail because Chris and Damon can have their own conversations. But it was wonderful Chris took the time to message Damon several times to see how he was.”
