Chicago Rapper Chief Keef Put In Jail
Chicago rapper Chief Keef, aka Keith Cozart, was put into juvenile custody after he was charged with violating his probation from gun charges, the Chicago Tribune reports. In 2011 Chief Keef, now 17, was convicted after aiming a gun at a Chicago police officer, and his most recent troubles stem from a video of the rapper holding a gun at a gun range over the summer while promoting his album.
Keef’s fate will be decided on Thursday, and for now he remains in a juvenile jail. Keef has come under fire recently for suspicion that he was connected to the Sept. 4 murder of Lil Jojo, aka Joseph Coleman, who was believed to be a member of a rival gang to Keef’s. Keef also faced trouble for possibly violating his probation by moving to a different house, however this claim was thrown out in court.
Keef’s debut studio album, Finally Rich, which was released on Dec. 18, had guest appearances by 50 Cent, Young Jeezy and Rick Ross. Keef’s video for his song, “Love Sosa,” has over 24 million views on YouTube.
