Chelsea Clinton Tweet Defends Barron Trump, Slams Donald Trump’s Policies

Chelsea Clinton, who spent her teenage years in the White House with her father, President Bill Clinton, tweeted in support of Barron Trump.

This tweet, in turn, also took a jab at Donald Trump. “Barron Trump deserves the chance every child does – to be a kid,” it began. Then she took a political turn against his father, saying, “Standing up for every kid also means opposing POTUS policies that hurt kids.”

The tweet received a lot of mixed reviews, some calling the former first daughter a hypocrite, and others agreeing with her views. I haven’t seen any policies that hurt kids yet, so why is that in this discussion?” one user asked. “I remember your childhood in the White House,” said another. “The media was sometimes very cruel. Children don’t have a choice as to what their parents do. I hope he’ll be allowed to just be a kid.”

People have been poking fun at Barron since his father won the election, between diagnosing him with autism and comparing his keeping his head down with liberals shaking their heads at the Republican’s win.

Trump’s controversial choice to make Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, who as supported charter schools over private school, was a prime target. “Getting rid of public schools, #ACA, & destroying the environment isn’t good at all,” said another Twitter user.
