Charles Manson To Marry 25-Year-Old Named 'Star'
Charles Manson, 79, the notorious cult leader and murderer, may be getting married to a 25-year-old devotee he has named Star.
“Star! She’s not a woman. She’s a star in the Milky Way,” Manson describes his supposed fiancé in a new interview.
Manson is currently serving out his life sentence in prison after being convicted of multiple murders in 1969. He famously headed the Manson Family, a cult-like group responsible for the gruesome murder of director Roman Polanski’s wife, actress Sharon Tate, among others.
Star Visits Manson Regularly
Manson is never getting out of prison. He was recently denied parole for the twelfth time and his next parole hearing will be in 2027. Star doesn’t seem to mind; in fact, she moved to California to be near Manson when she was 19 and visits the famous killer every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, for up to five hours each day.
Though Star insists the two are engaged to be married, the couple is only allowed to kiss at the start and end of each visit, and Manson admitted that the idea of marriage was a publicity stunt.
“I’ll tell you strait up, Charlie and I are going to get married… When that will be, we don’t know. But I take it very seriously. Charlie is my husband. Charlie told me to tell you this. We haven’t told anybody about that,” Star told Rolling Stone.
Manson, however, contradicted his new ladylove, saying, “That’s a bunch of garbage. You know that, man. That’s trash. We’re just playing that for public consumption.”
Manson maintains his innocence, and Star, for her part, appears to believe him. A young woman from Mississippi River, a small town near St. Louis, Star grew up as the daughter of Christian Baptists and, when she grew suspicious of her faith, spent the bulk of her adolescence alone. After hearing about Manson’s environmental stance, ATWA (air, trees, water, animals), Star began writing to Manson and, at 19, moved to California to meet him in person. When not visiting Manson in prison, Star runs various websites aimed at getting him out of prison. One, for example, titled “Release Charles Manson Now,” maintains that Manson was denied legal rights during his trial and is a “political prisoner."
Star Doesn't Care About Manson Family Murders
Star also spends her time making gift packages for Manson and shows her support for Manson by changing her physical appearance. In an ode to Manson, Star carved an ‘X’ into her forehead as Manson and his supporters had done during their 1969 trial. The connection to Manson’s trial doesn’t phase Star, who admits she doesn’t care one bit about the murders.
“I do not give one f—k whatsoever about 1969, personally,” Star states before trashing Manson’s then go-to-girl, Susan Atkins, who was also convicted of murder, calling her a “psycho.”
The future Mrs. Manson says she looks forward to a life with Manson, who is not allowed conjugal visits, and reveals that she has her parents’ blessings in her future marriage.
“My parents like Charlie. We were just talking and they said, ‘If Charlie gets out, you guys can come stay here. You could stay in the basement for a while, and you could maybe build your own little house down by the creek,’” Star said.
