Caitlyn Jenner announced earlier this week that she will write a memoir about her transition in the public eye.
The yet-to-be-titled book will detail Jenner going “from Bruce to Caitlyn, and her brave transition into womanhood,” according to publisher Grand Central Publishing.
Jenner will co-author the book with Buzz Bissinger, who wrote the lengthy cover feature on Jenner for Vanity Fair last year.
“Things have been moving so quickly that it will be nice to slow things down a bit and take the proper time to reflect on this journey. I couldn’t pick a better team, in Grand Central and Buzz, to make sure this story is told with a lot of honesty and care,” Jenner said in a statement about the book, which is scheduled for publication in spring 2017.
In his own statement, Bissinger stated that while this will be Jenner’s memoir, he will take care of getting at the absolute truth of her story by collecting the accounts of those close to her as well.
“I made it clear to her before I agreed that everything has to be on the table, nothing can be left out, and I’m going to be interviewing dozens of other people,” Bissinger told The New York Times. “It’s her book, but it’s going to be reported out to keep her honest. She’s been incredibly open, and I think it has the potential to be a really important book.”
Jenner came out as a transgender woman last April during a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer. She made her debut as Caitlyn on the cover of Vanity Fair with the headline, “Call Me Cait.”
Jenner currently stars on her own E! docu-series I Am Cait, which has been renewed for a second season.
