Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming, took to social media on Tuesday to congratulate her friend, Max Lugavere, on his new film Little Empty Boxes, which documents his mother’s battle with a mysterious form of dementia.
Heming, who has been advocating for Willis, 68, since he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, praised Lugavere and Newhard’s work, saying “It would be an absolute disservice if this documentary is not on a screen near us soon.”
Lugavere reciprocated the love, commenting “You’re a warrior and I’m so proud to be in this fight with you. ❤️.” Willis’ ex-wife, Demi Moore, also took to the comments section, writing “Look forward to seeing it!”
Heming and Moore recently shared a joint Mother’s Day along with Rumer Willis, who has just welcomed her first baby, Tallulah Willis, and Scout LaRue Willis. “What an extra special day it was for our family as we celebrated @rumerwillis and her first Mother’s Day 🌸💐🌼,” Heming wrote. “we just love how the girls keep multiplying in pure Willis fashion. We love you so very much Louetta 💓 #happymothersday.”
Emily recently begged the paparazzi to stop photographing her husband because the flashes disorient him.
“Max chronicles his mother Kathy’s battle with dementia while he educates himself on everything he can do to help her. His love for his mother is powerful. His motivation to find answers from leading health experts is inspiring and then be so gracious to share that information is a true blessing,” Heming wrote, sharing a photo of herself and the filmmaker.
The 44-year-old model went on to thank and praise the filmmaker “for being so brave and vulnerable” with his mother’s story “and spotlighting the importance of brain health.”
IN MEMORIAM 2022: 100 GREAT CELEBRITIES WHO DIED IN 2022
“When you live the world of dementia you know that options are slim. But some won’t take that lying down which is how change is made and I got to witness the beauty in that last night,” Heming wrote after attending the screening of Lugavere’s new documentary.
Co-directed by Lugavere and Chris Newhard, Little Empty Boxes follows Lugavere as he “educates himself on everything he can do to help.” According to his website, Lugavere’s “journey takes us from coast to coast as he searches for answers behind this tragic illness, and how our lifestyle and diet choices 10, 20, and even 30 years prior can play a role.”
Heming also just launched her new supplement brand, Make Time Wellness, which supports brain health on Thursday. “My brain was suffering, and I could feel it,” Heming told People. “Why is the focus on the rest of our body when really our brain is our biggest asset and the one that we should be really looking after? I found that when you put your brain first and when you are taking care of your brain, your whole body benefits.”
