Brooke Shields discussed her divorce to Andre Agassi on the Today Show and slammed the tennis pro for how he acted during their divorce.

In a segment discussing divorce with attorney Laura Wassar, Shields opened up about her own with Agassi. "I am divorced," Shields said. "And mine was very quick and relatively easy but it's a very interesting thing because he — quote, unquote — did say to me, 'Be happy that we don't have children or I would not have made this easy for you… And therein lies why I'm not there anymore."

In 2009, Agassi appeared on the Today Show to promote his book Open, and said that his marriage to Shields ended because of a lack of understanding. "I think at that time in my life I couldn't be married to anyone. I think timing is really important. You need in a marriage, two people who understand themselves," Agassi said. "And I certainly didn't understand myself."

Shields and Agassi married April 19, 1997 after a four year courtship. They divorced in 1999 just shy of their two-year wedding anniversary. Later that year Shields met her now-husband Chris Henchy through mutual friends. The two dated for two years before marrying in 2001. They have two daughters together — Rowan Francis (born in 2003) and Grier Hammond (born in 2006).

Agassi, too, remarried in 2001, to fellow tennis star Steffi Graf. They have two children, son Jaden Gil and daughter Jaz Elle.
