Brody Jenner Wants To Parent ‘The Exact Opposite’ From Absent Caitlyn Jenner

Brody Jenner has shared publicly that he plans on parenting “differently” than Caitlyn Jenner with his newborn baby.

Brody is Caitlyn’s youngest child with her ex-wife Linda Thompson. Caitlyn has six children altogether and has been married three times, including to Kris Jenner and Chrystie Scott. Kris and Caitlyn share Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner. Thompson and Caitlyn share two additional children, Brandon Jenner and Burt Jenner, who are Brody’s older brothers. Her last child is Cassandra Marino, which she shares from her first marriage to Scott.

While being married to Kris, Caitlyn also took on four stepchildren, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Rob Kardashian and she currently has over 20 grandchildren. 

Brody recently welcomed a baby girl named Honey Raye Jenner with his fiance Tia Blanco on July 29. He shared the news on his Instagram page with a video of Blanco’s at-home birth in a pool. He added a heartfelt sentiment with the post writing, “We welcomed our baby girl, Honey Raye Jenner, to the world on July 29th ❤️ Momma and baby are in perfect health. We are so incredibly in love and have been cherishing this precious time together as a family. We want to thank everyone for all the love and support. 🙏🏼” 

Brody additionally added, “We put together a video of our journey including our baby shower, proposal and full home birth… Posted to our new YouTube channel.” 

In this YouTube video, Brody put together a montage of their pregnancy and birth. He also spoke about how he plans on approaching parenthood completely “differently” than his parents, specifically Caitlyn. 

“I think that what I’m most excited about is doing things differently than my father did,” Brody stated. He shared that throughout his life, he and Caitlyn did not always “have the greatest relationship.”

He specifically stated that Caitlyn was frequently absent from his life sharing, “[Caitlyn] wasn’t really around for me growing up. So I think that … just doing the exact opposite, being the absolute best father I can possibly be and getting ready for the journey, [is what I want].” 

This is not the first time Brody has spoken publicly about his relationship with Caitlyn. Reportedly before Caitlyn’s third marriage to Kris, Caitlyn “disappeared” and did not put much effort into staying in her kids’ lives. Their relationship did not improve as Brody saw how “loving” Caitlyn acted towards Kendall and Kylie but was absent from his life. 

In one episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2013, Brody called Caitlyn out when he saw how “attentive” she was acting towards her two daughters on vacation. 

When Brody married Kaitlynn Carter in 2018, Kylie, Kendall and Caitlyn did not attend the wedding, which he admitted “really hurt” him. 

Caitlyn has spoken out in the past, taking accountability for not being present in her children’s lives. She confessed that her struggles with gender identity created a barrier for her and she was not able to be her best self. She claims that she apologized to all her children for hurting them emotionally.
