The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that the body that was discovered near Pennburg, Pa., was in fact Stone’s on Facebook.
Stone’s shooting spree started Monday morning before dawn when he entered the home of Nicole Stone’s sister Patricia Flick. There, he killed Patricia, her husband Aaron Flick, and their 14-year-old daughter, Nina Flick. The Flick’s 17-year-old son Anthony Flick suffered a head wound in the shooting and currently remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
From the former sister-in-law’s house, Stone went to the home his former mother-in-law Joanne Hill shared with her mother, Patricia Hill. After killing his ex-wife’s mother and grandmother, he went to Nicole’s apartment in Harleysville, Pa., killing her and taking their two daughters with him.
“I heard three or four gunshots and I heard the kids yelling, saying, ‘Mommy, no. No, mommy, no.’ And he just said, ‘Let’s go. We gotta go,'” a neighbor told CNN affiliate WFMZ. “I heard him say, ‘Let’s go. We gotta get in the car.'”
“They didn’t have any coats on or anything,” the neighbor added. “They just had their pajamas on, and he just said, ‘We gotta go.’ He was like, ‘She’s hurt. She’s hurt pretty bad. We have to leave.’ And just got in the car and sped off.”
Stone did not hurt his two children from his relationship with Nicole, nor did he injure his current wife and their infant child. It is believed that Stone waged the attack on Nicole and her family over an ongoing custody dispute.
