Brad Pitt Attends Jennifer Aniston’s Birthday Party But Sources Say They’re “Just Friends”

They were the golden couple of the early 2000s. Amid Jennifer Aniston‘s overwhelming success on Friends, her relationship with the two-time “sexiest man alive” Brad Pitt was the hottest topic in Hollywood. They met in 1998 through their agents, and were married two years later in a highly-anticipated and star-studded ceremony. But in 2005, amidst rumors that Pitt had had an affair with his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie, Aniston and Pitt split, erupting a mass of fan theories and tabloid news stories about the love triangle that was Pitt, Jolie, and Aniston’s relationship.

Since their split, both Aniston and Pitt have re-married and separated once again. Pitt married Jolie in a secret ceremony in 2014 after nearly ten years together, but the couple filed for divorce in September of 2016. Aniston married screenwriter Justin Theroux in 2015, but also announced her separation in February of 2018.

50 CELEBRITIES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

And now it looks like the original golden couple might just be getting back together. Saturday night, Pitt was spotted sneaking into Aniston’s 50th birthday party at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower, sparking rumors of a rekindling between the two actors. Pitt was not Aniston’s only ex at the party, though, as reports say that John Mayer (whom Aniston dated from 2008 to 2009) attended as well (although notably Theroux was not in attendance). The party also included a number of other celebrity guests, including Reese Witherspoon, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Amal and George Clooney, Ellen DeGeneres, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson, who each posted a photo with the birthday girl to their Instagram accounts. Aniston’s Friends co-stars Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox were also there.

Unfortunately for fans of Jen and Brad, E! News reported that the invitation was entirely platonic, and that “they definitely aren’t dating or on that path. They are friendly, but that’s it.” But given that this is the first time Aniston and Pitt have been spotted together since their 2005 split, there’s no saying what this could mean for the future of Hollywood’s once-golden duo.
