When Bobbi Kristina Brown’s doctors brought her out of a medically induced coma Wednesday, she started to have violent seizures, forcing them to put her back into a coma.

“She was taken off the drugs, but she began having violent seizures,” a family source told People. “She is being put back into a coma.”

The source added, “Bobby is beside himself,” referring to Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby Brown.

Doctors had decided to bring Bobby Kristina out of the coma to see what progress had been made in her condition, according to Dr. Subhashini Rames a professor of NeuroCritical Care at Georgia Regents University. “The underlying problem has improved,” or the doctors want to “get a sense of what the patient is able to do for themselves,” Rames told People.

For the family, Bobbi Kristina’s seizures have been a major disappointment, as they’d hoped she would show sure signs of improvement once she was taken out of the coma.

“This is a horrible setback. Everyone was hopeful that this was the sign that she’d turned the corner. We were so optimistic,” the family insider said. “Bobby is taking this so hard; he was sure this was going to be a good day. But please, everyone needs to pray for Krissi. I don’t care what religion you are, or if you have no religion at all. Send your thoughts, your prayers, your well-wishes. Send everything you’ve got. Please.”

Bobbi Kristina has remained on life support after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Atlanta-area home.
