Bobbi Kristina Brown, who remains hospitalized in critical condition after being found unconscious in a bathtub, never married supposed husband Nick Gordon.

Kristina and Gordon announced in January 2014 that they had married following months of speculation about whether or not the two – who had been raised like brother and sister – were engaged. At the time, reps confirmed that the couple had indeed tied the knot.

When news broke about Kristina’s tragic incident, reports suggested that she had been found by her husband and a friend. Since then, Bobby Brown’s lawyer Christopher Brown, has debunked the marriage.

“To correct earlier reports, Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon,” Brown said.

A year ago, after news of the wedding that never was broke, Bobby Brown was surprised to learn that his daughter had gotten married, according to TMZ. Apparently, Brown had been dubious about the claims from the get-go.

Kristina and Gordon struck up an unlikely romance following the 2012 death of her mother Whitney Houston. Houston had been raising Gordon since he was 12, when his mother could no longer care for him. Eventually, the singer legally adopted Gordon and raised him and Kristina as siblings.
