Conrad Hilton Charged With Assaulting Flight Attendants After In-Flight Tantrum

Conrad Hilton, whose namesake is his great-grandfather hotelier Conrad Nicholas Hilton, is facing charges stemming from his behavior on a flight last summer.

Conrad Hilton Charged

During a British Airways flight from London to Los Angeles, Hilton is accused of threatening and intimidating flight attendants. He’s also accused of smoking on the flight, swearing and calling passengers “peasants.” He was charged with interfering with flight crew members after he turned himself into authorities Tuesday, U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesman Thom Mrozek  told CNN.

The charge alleges that Hilton, 20, “knowingly assaulted and intimidated flight attendants of the aircraft and, in doing so, interfered with the performance of the duties of the flight attendants and lessened the ability of the flight attendants to perform their duties.”

A flight attendant aboard the 10.5 hour flight on July 14, 2014 claimed that the young heir seemed to be “under the influence of drugs because of his erratic behavior while walking through the cabin.”

Among the obscenities that Hilton – who frequently left his seat during the flight – allegedly unleashed at flight attendants and fellow passengers were, “I am going to f—— kill you!” and, “I will f—— own anyone on this flight; they are f—— peasants.”

In the height of his in-flight tantrum, the younger brother of Paris Hilton boasted that his high-powered father Rick Hilton could get them all fired – and make his potential legal woes go away. “I could get you all fired in five minutes. I know your boss!” he allegedly shouted, “My father will pay this out, he has done it before. Dad paid $300,000 last time.”

According to the FBI, Hilton has admitted to some of the accusations, while refuting others. “Hilton denied having a confrontation with a flight attendant near the start of the flight but acknowledged having other issues with flight attendants,” the affidavit said. Hilton is also quoted as saying, “I did intimidate. But, through defense. He came up to me with his nose.”

Hilton was released on $20,000 bond. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years behind bars.
